April 2008 Newsletter

Dear Friend of Northland,
Things have been moving and shaking (literally) at Northland. We’ve been reorganizing the building we’ve
been housed in for most of the last twenty years. Offices, inventory, shelving and printing equipment have
all been on the move. In the process a wall was constructed, a door cut, new phones installed and
electrical circuits added. The basic work was done last week and we are going to be finding new places
to keep things for a time to come. In the meanwhile we have to get back to doing all of our regular jobs.
It’s the end of the month so the free downloadable calendar page for April is ready. Just click here and it
could be on your refrigerator or office bulletin board in no time. We will be attending a number of labor and
general organizing conference around the country during the rest of the year. We also send literature to
events that we can’t make it to. If you’d like to hand out catalogs or brochures through your own networks
or at a local event, we’ll be happy to provide them (we’ll be producing a new organizing catalog this spring).
Finally seeing signs of spring here in Minnesota (we had heard that it was being cancelled due to budget
cuts but it was apparently spared!). We know that not all of you live where these things make much
difference but for us, it’s been a long winter. The political winter may last longer but we have our pens and
brushes on the ready to help make it a brighter time, a funnier one and a more promising one.
See you on the picket line,
Northlanders
