Dear Friend of Northland,
As the long election season wears on,the Earth’s physical seasons are going through a change. At
least that’s true in the corner of the Earth where our offices are located. And none too soon. It’s been a
long, cold winter in northern North America (the first we’ve had in some time). The elections still seem kind
of cold. Working people, poor folk and corporate elitists are all vying to see which candidates can best
represent our interests. We end up choosing the same folks in many cases.
In our case we are working on new designs befitting an election year. as is our tradition, we will be
targeting issues that seem to be most important to the grassroots constituencies we work for. We don’t
do candidate-specific products. We should have some new slogans to roll out soon, though and we’ll see
what you think of them.
We’ve been getting a lot of new sign-ups for this list and would like to welcome you new folks. We
always send out a message at the end of the month and sometimes we send one in between. we’re
learning to be “multi-channel” as we hone our blogging abilities, learn to manage the update messaging
on our Facebook page, and build our newsletter list. Without any corporate or foundation support, that’s
the way (through you) that we spread the word about our unique blend of art, positive social justice
messages and down and dirty organizing.
Speaking of organizing, we can expect a busy season of anti-war activity leading up to the major political
conventions. Those of you organizing to participate in these activities should remember that we can
produce buttons, T-shirts, signs and all kinds of other union made materials suitable for the street.
We’ll see you there,
the Northlandistas
